Thoughts and feelings that must accompany them
February 6th 2011
If you place a bucket somewhere under a gutter, you can count on it filling up with water as soon as it rains, but if you don’t put the bucket out don’t expect it to fill up! If you put a seed in the soil, you have some hope of seeing a plant grow, but if you sow nothing do not expect anything.
You will say, ‘But even children know that.’ Are you so sure? You do not open your heart to the water that flows down from the divine Source, and yet you expect it to be filled. You do not sow any thoughts or feelings of love, of generosity, and you expect to live in peace and joy. You ask, ‘But how can thoughts and feelings be sown?’ Here is an example: when you take an object to give to someone, do you put your attention, your awareness, into the gesture? No, you do it mechanically. Well, from now on, take care to give something else beside the object itself – add a good thought, a good feeling; wish that person well.
